Donation Policy

Bela Risu Foundation has adopted this policy to assure the prudent and discreet use of all information pertaining to individuals and organizations that have contributed, pledged, or may pledge gifts to Bela Risu Foundation Information you provide us with will be treated in agreement with the policies detailed below.

Bela Risu Foundation does not release donor information outside of the organization and its related entities and programs unless authorized by the donor. We do not sell or otherwise share donor information to any outside parties, and shall protect each donor’s personal information regardless of the format in which it is held. We educate our employees and volunteers on the importance of protecting the privacy and security of confidential personal and organizational information.

Donors are requested to provide limited personal information to Bela Risu Foundation in order to expedite the completion of contribution transactions, provide charitable gifting tax information, and facilitate donor recognition. This provision of personal information by the donor is completely voluntary. This information is retained in the financial records of Bela Risu Foundation for financial recording and IRS purposes.

1. Anonymity

Bela Risu Foundation exercises special caution to protect the identity of donors who wish to remain anonymous. The names of all anonymous donors, as well as other identifying information, are withheld on all donor-related documents.

Personal information provided by the donor will not be shared for any reason unless the donor grants permission.

2. Change of Privacy Policy

Bela Risu Foundation reserves the right to change our policy at any time with respect to any information collected following the posting of our revised privacy policies, and also reserves the right to change our privacy policy with respect to all information collected to conform to state or local legal requirements as those requirements may change from time to time. Any such change to conform to state or local legal requirements will not result in a lessening of the extent of privacy protection afforded to the information which we have collected prior to the date of the change in policy, except to the extent required by law.

3. Donor Bill of Rights

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the nonprofit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:

To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes. To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

  • To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
  • To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
  • To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
  • To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
  • To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
  • To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
  • To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
  • To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
4. Third Party

Bela Risu Foundation will never share, sell or trade donor information to any third parties in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Soliciting

Donors can be contacted periodically for solicitation purposes and/or regarding upcoming events and drives, unless the donor has opted out of communications.
